PERHAPS THIS IS WHY THE NAYSAYERS claim the death of print (and some printers are included in that number). They are wrong. We will always communicate by print. In the same way as the fax did not replace the letter and email did not replace the fax, e-communication will not replace print.
WHAT IS CHANGING IS THE WAY WE COMMUNICATE, the role print plays in that communication and the way we print. Take digital. In the 1990s digital print was largely regarded with suspicion and generally ignored by large swathes of the industry. Then it hit the ground running. Many were left behind and disappeared. Many struggled to keep up. Many got with the programme and thrived.
AT PRINT BUSINESS WE REALISE THAT CHOICES AVAILABLE to printers are continually changing and the decisions they have to make can be confusing. Being aware of a particular type of technology is one thing. Knowing how to implement it is entirely another. We are here to put things in perspective, to explain what the products can do by showing how print businesses use them to the best advantage.
WE UNDERSTAND THE INDUSTRY because we see it in action. We travel the length and breadth of the country, talking to printers, listening to printers, watching printers in action and then writing about them without an agenda. Our readers can then take what they want from the articles. Inspiration, clarification, verification or even vindication.
ON EACH COVER OF THE PRINT BUSINESS IS A PRINTER. Between the pages his story his told, along with those of other printer businesses. We also talk to suppliers, manufacturers, paper merchants, consultants and everyone else involved with print. Every article earns its place to provide our readers with informative and interesting facts and viewpoints.
